Mussolini's PR nightmare. Last time with the opening of 1942, Admiral

Cunningham in Egypt, nor air commander Hugh Pueh Lloyd on Malta, were happy with the

current situation. The Admiral had lost two battleships thanks to a daring Italian

attack, while in the port of Alexandria, while the air commander had to contend with the

return of the Germans and their Measurer Schmidt 109s. Without spitfire planes. The only

planes capable of keeping up with the deadly German machines. The hidden days of chasing

Italian planes away from Malta or sinking Italian ships on their way to North Africa

was over. Malta and its defenders were back to simply trying to hold out. And it was

the same for the nighttime flyers. Tommy Thompson, a member of the Malta Knight Fighter Unit

or MNFU, now changed to 1435 flight, noticed the increase in nighttime raids and the number
