Summary

Welcome to Episode 353. In this episode the Leftovers are joined by Paul from Movies from the Hart and The Animated Batcast as well as Stephanie Chapman from popcultureleftovers.com. We go over the winners for the Most Wanted digital codes as well as the digital codes for Crash Bandicoot 4. In Good Pop Bad Pop for movies this week we talk about Hubie Halloween starring Adam Sandler now on Netflix. We all watched Charm City Kings on HBO Max where fourteen-year-old Mouse desperately wants to join the Midnight Clique, an infamous group of Baltimore dirt-bike riders who rule the summertime streets. The documentary Dolly Parton: Here I Am is on Netflix now and we let you know what we think. Brian and Paul talk about the new movie Spontaneous available on Digital and On Demand Now! When students in their high school begin inexplicably exploding (literally…), Mara (played by Katherine Langford) and Dylan (played by Charlie Plummer) struggle to survive in a world where each moment may be their last. As an unexpected romance blossoms between them, Mara and Dylan discover that when tomorrow is no longer promised, they can finally start living for today! We also talk about Amazon Prime Video’s new movie release The Lie starring Mireille Enos, Peter Sarsgaard and Joey King. And we talk about Never Rarely Sometimes Always that is now available to watch on HBO. In TV we discuss The Haunting of Bly Manor on Netflix which is the follow-up series to The Haunting of Hill House, and the second entry in The Haunting anthology series. Brian and Jake talk about a new anime on Crunchyroll and also available on VRV, Jujutsu Kaisen. We also talk about the new Showtime series The Good Lord Bird starring Ethan Hawke where he plays abolitionist John Brown in this limited series based on the novel of the same name. And Peacock dropped a new comedy called Code 404 that we discuss. In News we talk about some TV cancellations. We’ve got details about Ready Player Two. Will there be nudity in the Amazon Prime Video Lord of the Rings series? And Rambo is joining Mortal Kombat 11. In Marvel News Disney+ has added a new viewing order to their list of MCU films. And Doctor Strange is joining Peter Park in the untitled Spider-Man 3 movie. We give our thoughts on what we think they are setting up here with this. Nothing is cut and dry when it comes to this announcement. And in DC News we have details about the HBO Max Green Lantern series.
