If these walls could talk, it's meant to be comforting, an invitation to imagine holiday mornings,

a baby's first steps, birthday candles, and bedtime stories. Real estate agents say it often, gesturing toward hardwood floors and crown molding,

suggesting that decades of happiness have somehow settled into the walls themselves.

But if you sit with that phrase a little longer, it starts to feel less reassuring.

Because walls don't choose what they remember.

What if, instead of joy, they witnessed flashes of dread or fear?

What if the history sealed into plaster and paint wasn't the kind you'd hear in a sales

pitch, but something far darker? What if these walls could talk? Would they welcome you,
