Tucked into southwestern Florida sits the booming bedroom community of Northport, nestled between Sarasota and Fort Myers on the Gulf Coast.

The kind of suburb families move to for space, safety and predictability, a place

meant to feel ordinary in the best possible way. In early 2023, John and Walton moved into a new home

on Mollicoat Road with her husband and two children. It was a beautiful modern house on a quiet tree-lined street,

but what really made the neighborhood special were the neighbors? Well, we called them the mayor,

Mayor of Malacote Road. The mayor of Mollicoat Road was a tongue-in-cheek title given to 48-year-old

Robbie Tower, along with his wife, 48-year-old Robbie Tower,

along with his wife, 51-year-old Jennifer Tower.

The couple had become the de facto welcoming community for the neighborhood.

Robbie and Jen both got us together every month.

He was always walking his dogs down the street, saying hi.

We were always seeing them.

They'd come over our house at least twice a week and we'd just hang out and talk.
