the sense that I don't understand why anybody votes against bringing the idea and having

the debate.

And then you've got all the amendments if you don't like the bill.

This is a whole new concept of individuals that just want to burn the whole place down.

It doesn't work.

We think stand.

So as of right now, GOP leaders have decided to send members home for the rest of the

weeks after a tumultuous few days here in the house.

They initially had planned to put a short-term funding bill on the floor on Saturday after

they included a number of conservative priorities to try to win over hardline critics.

But that was not enough.

So now it's back to the drawing board and we're told the new strategy is going to be focusing

on individual spending bills.

They're long-term spending bills.

But the problem there is that they would need to pass 11 individual spending bills within

the next nine days or so in order to avoid a government shutdown.

And those bills would be dead on arrival in the Senate.

And so it is looking increasingly likely that there is going to be a government shutdown.

We've been following a developing situation at the U.S. border with Mexico where we are

seeing a surge in migrants.

Here in the last 24 hours, there were 8,600 border arrests.

Now President Biden is sending another 800 troops to the border.
