Summary

Until we start paying attention on purpose, we usually don’t realize how much of our awareness is tied up in seeing and thinking. In this longer guided meditation, you can learn to gently balance your awareness across the senses. The result is a state of enlivening and joyful Presence.

So we're in season three, and if you're familiar with the show, we get into a rhythm of a couple episodes, an interview, and a longer meditation.

That's kind of our rotation through the seasons.

And today it is time for a little bit longer of a meditation.

Today's meditation is appropriate for any activity.

There are some meditations we do.

It's better to pull your car to the side of the road or find yourself in a quiet spot where you won't be disturbed.

Here you could do this doing just about anything and being just about anywhere.

Of course, you know, to build these mindfulness muscles, it's generally easiest to put yourself in a really simple environment, quiet, closed off, so there won't be any distractions.

But then as you develop these skills, it's also powerful to change up your environment and add some challenge to it.

We're going to get underway, and I hope you enjoy. Take a moment to settle in whatever you're doing, wherever you are,

just gather awareness back in the physical body,

to feel sensation flowing in this moment, feel the ground beneath you, and to feel the flow of breath. Thank you. Without any special effort,

just having an intention to become more fully present,

we find that it just kind of happens.

You can let the belly soften expanding and contracting with the breath. Because awareness is all pervasive throughout all of experience,

it turns out it's not very difficult to contact awareness.
