Hey everybody, welcome you were born for this podcast with Father John Ricardo, Mary Guilfoyle.

We're a couple of missionaries at Acts 29. This is the podcast where we talk about the Word of God,

most especially the first reading for the Sunday coming up at Mass, and how it wants to bring

hope and renewal and transformation to our lives.

Mary, can you believe we're looking at the readings for Palm Sunday?

I don't know if it's because I'm older.

I'm getting older year by year.

I'm getting younger year by year.

How strange.

You look it.

But every year it seems to go quicker.

But, you know, I think because of the way God has gifted you to preach the gospel,

I think I'm in a new place this year in a particular way.

And I'm eager to experience these great and holy days, these universe-changing days in a new way.

And so I have a sense of excitement.

That's not a commentary on the fruitfulness or the unfruitfulness, if that's even a word, on my lent.

But I'm excited about entering these days

in a particular way to see some things I haven't seen before, or that sometimes fall flat

because we can get so comfortable maybe with this week. It's great word as we begin. You know what?

We're roughly the same age, and I've gone through almost six decades of holy weeks and I say oftentimes to my brother priests

I get more and more empathetic with the Pharisees as I get older in life

because I think it's dangerous to be professionally religious
