Welcome to the Enneagram Journey. My guest today is Phil Dickie. He's young and smart and

a nine on the Enneagram. Well, that covers it all. Young and smart. I don't feel that

young anymore. I just turned 34. Yeah. I originally came from Missouri and grew up

Born and Race, South-Hose and Ziri on a farm with a farm boy and made my way to Texas.

What was it I always say? It wasn't born here, but I got years because I could

to actually took a job at Highland Park United Methodist and that was August of 2007. So in August,

it'll be 11 years that I've been there. I have did not have a plan on being a pastor, but I am now

officially an ordained clergy person, the United Methodist Church and I have again been there

a little over 11 years and I currently work with our young adults at the church and then are

online ministry as well. So that's kind of what keeps me busy as well as having a family.

Yeah, so talk about your beautiful bride and those little girls. I have, we will have been married

10 years in December and we have two little girls, one that is five, Nora and one that is three,

Betsy and then we have a little boy coming in July. That's so exciting. When in July?

13th is the due date. Yeah. But I'm convinced that we're not going to make it that far.

Yeah. I want you to talk about how being a nine helps you navigate between progressive and

traditional because you and Joe happen to be pastors in a church that navigates between

progressive and traditional thinking. Like I'm not talking about worship. I'm talking about

progressive and traditional thinking and and to further set the table to hear you talk about that

for a bit. I don't know if you've heard me say in the last months that I really think right now

in the world it is a season for sixes and nine. Sixes because they carry a desire for the common good

better than other numbers and nine's because you see two sides to everything.

Yeah and that's what Ineagram work has really put language to this fact that I do see
