This is the podcast where we talk about the Word of God, especially the first reading for the upcoming Sunday.

And in this case, it's a brutally challenging reading and how it can hopefully bring transformation

and renewal into our lives. Mary, how you doing early on in the season of Lent?

I'm doing pretty good, Father John. And I have to tell you too, I mean, you and I had a very

lengthy discussion around this passage. And I think it goes without saying,

this is probably one of the most troubling passages that we read in scripture, and aren't we

lucky? Aren't we blessed that we get to unpack this one for our friends today?

Full disclosure. We've been going at it here, and we're both wholly unsatisfied. That's not

H-O-L-Y, but W-H-O-L-L-Y. And I think we're supposed to be,

quite honestly, as we dive into this, but we'll leave that for as we break in, given all that,

what is the topic? So the topic for this week is the journey from love to trust.

And my experience is it's a long, lifelong journey.
