Welcome to Citizen. Today we're going to do something a little bit different. I've been working on the book, the accompanying book to this show.

One of the things we discussed quite a bit on the show is the West's proclivity to

get so comfortable with the results of the hard work of other people that we forget about the

necessity for us to work hard as well and you know that's very myopic. It's a big problem in the way that we approach our own

governance. You've heard me quote Plato before. And you know it's it really is a true statement that if you, you know,

refuse to take part in your own governance and you're doing to be ruled by

fools it is. to be ruled by fools. It is, it's just like that. It's a power vacuum, right? People who, you've heard me say it a lot before, people who desire power very rarely
