There was a line that Kirby Smart used a little earlier this offseason that I thought was really funny.

Kirby's got a pretty good dry sense of humor, and he delivers things in a very sort of deadpan way.

I sometimes find it to be kind of funny, whether he's intending to be or not.

And he was talking about

some sort of complaint he had had. I honestly sort of forget what it was, transfer portal or something.

I think it was that timing related to the transfer portal for the teams trying to win a national

championship, the fact that the portal was opening up while they were doing that. I think that's what

it was. And Smart, sort of in a

deadpan way, revealed to reporters that when he complained about that, he was told, hey, there's no

crying from the yacht. In other words, you've got things so well. You're living this, you know,

wonderful life. Georgia's this premier program. You were essentially, you know, kind of living the

lifestyle of the

rich and famous on the yacht and things like that. So you don't get to complain about

transfer portal because you've got it so good. That's what Smart said. And I was thinking about

that because I think for all of us, there's an aspect of that that's true. You know, yesterday,

we spent a good bit of time talking about what had been

the day prior on Tuesday, a pretty bad day for Georgia recruiting. And that's true, full stop.
