Tyler Atkinson talk coming up, but will you begin here day two SEC Media Days in Atlanta

with something close to breaking news. Kirby Smart speaking to local UGA-related media early this morning

before the kind of official proceedings of SEC Media begins, clarifying two issues that have been heavy

in discussion kind of leading into this Georgia appearance today.

Obviously, it was a little bit of an eyebrow raising announcement from Georgia last week

when quarterback Gunner Stockton was announced as one of the attendees for Georgia with Media

Days.

Now, listen, there are 11 quarterbacks from the SEC here this week.

So Georgia bringing Gunner Stockton from that standpoint, not exactly notable.

But Kirby Smart has not always brought his quarterback to media days.

And historically, has not brought a quarterback two media days in those years in which

there was at least some question as to who his starting quarterback was going to be case in point

Carson beg did not come with Georgia in 2023 so it was interesting to say the least when stockton

was announced as someone who'd be with Georgia

here today. Kirby, though, telling local media earlier this morning that just because Gunner

is here for media days, that does not mean right now that Kirby is ready to announce him and name him

as Georgia's starting quarterback. That is the word coming from Kirby Smart on that.
