So the world of figure skating was not and is not fair. Unlike most sports, it's not just about being the best.

Do you know why it's called figure skating?

No, because when the skaters are skating, they make marks on the ice, right?

And one of the ways they are judged is whether they can get it in the same line.

So the judges will sometimes get up and look on the ice and look for the figures like a figure of eight, for example, and how many times they've done it or whether they've got it in the same line every time.

Interesting. Yeah, I know. Look red handed sports, sports edition.

So yeah, it's not like other sports. You can't just be the best and that's enough.

For example, if you're the fastest person to run 100 meters, then you're the winner.

If your team scores the most points in a game of rugby, you guessed it.

You've won. But if you jump the highest, land the best tricks and put in the best performance at a figure skating competition, you could come first, second, or even dead last, because figure skating is subjective.

It's an art, not a science. So what would you do if you put in all the hard work, pushing yourself to the pinnacle of your sport?
