If you think about one of the recipes for what makes a college football team exceptional in years when that takes place, it seems like oftentimes one of the things you have is players that we think might be good and are kind of to a somewhat degree known commodities, they end up being far better than you could have ever realized or maybe far better than they would

have been predicted to be at the very beginning of that season. Here at Georgia, we have, I think,

a perfect example of that. I spent some time this morning kind of going back down memory lane on

stuff like this that obviously the 2021 Georgia Bulldogs national champions, they also had a

defense that will be remembered among

the very best in college football history. But it's really interesting to kind of go back to the

season, or should say the time before that season began. And one of the things you discover is

there wasn't a whole lot of like recognition or predictions of just how good Georgia was going to

turn out to be. Let me give you a couple of examples of this. You know, pro football focus will do

its kind of rankings before the year begins of the top 10 returning quarterbacks or top

10 returning wide receivers. Well, in, you know, kind of like

early 2021 prior to that season beginning, when they ranked their top 10 returning defensive

lineman for the 2021 season, now keep in mind, the thing that propelled Georgia more than anything

in 2021, it's great defense, but primarily it's great defensive line.

You know, Jordan Davis won like the Lombardi Trophy, the Bignaric Award.

Trayvon Walker became the number one overall pick.

Devante Wyatt was also a first round pick.

Jalen Carter Ford's Worth was a backup on that team.
