We used a phrase in a show a couple of weeks ago called the Overton window,

the idea that there are certain things

that sort of okay to talk about, other things that sort of not okay to talk about. Then the

world of sports, for a while, something that a lot of Georgia fans have kind of thought to be

true was not always treated as okay to talk about by the main gatekeepers of media.

Georgia fans have long had a suspicion that the Atlanta Falcons were not as willing to

embrace former Georgia players in the NFL draft as they should be.

And a lot of, you know, sports rider types or TV types or whatever else,

we'd try to gatekeep that opinion and basically say, well, if you believe that,

you're unsophisticated because the Falcon's job is not to tout the dogs or worry about

the marketing value of the players they draft.

They got to go out and select the very best players they can.

And that was kind of the line on that,

that if you think Atlanta should be drafted so-and-so just because he went to Georgia,

then you're basically unsophisticated.

That's what the rules of the conversation were for quite some time.

Then, lo and behold, the Philadelphia Eagles go out and win a Super Bowl

by doing exactly what we just described, taking players almost essentially because they went to Georgia.
