Patricia Marie Dudek was a 33 year old from Salisbury, Maryland.

She was the mother of three and had recently moved in with her boyfriend.

On the morning of January 7, 2002, Patty's daughter left for school while her mother and the boyfriend were arguing.

When the daughter came home, Patty wasn't there.

She was never seen again. I'm at Denzel and this is unfound. Oh, I don't know if Unfound was the program that started it, but I certainly made it a centerpiece of how we analyze and investigate disappearances.

That is, we look to other cases, prior ones we've covered over the past four years

to learn more about the one we are working on right now. Why? Because it doesn't take a missing person's expert to notice that there are certainly patterns.

Disappearances can be put into groups,

based on all sorts of different criteria, depending on gender, age, location, time, circumstances, drugs, and abuse of relationships.

In fact, the FBI uses the same process in trying to determine if

murders have been committed by the same person. They use criteria such as

murder weapon, victim, disposal method, stolen items, if any, etc.

And often this is how serial killers modus operandize are identified. It's a way of trying to find order within the

chaos. Well, in the disappearance of Patty Dudek, we once again come across a case where a man has a story about his girlfriend

just taking off and we know how we felt in the past about these types of stories

however maybe in Patty's case, we need to look at everything differently because something may just be out of place. And now a summary of the case, this is brought to you by my friend
