I know, where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio?

Well, I said that lovingly because obviously I'm not Joe DiMaggio, but the point of saying it about anyone or for anything is that when it's gone, it's something you yearn for.

And there were a few of you who wondered enough about where I had gone to actually reach out,

and some of you were concerned about how I was.

And truthfully, I did a disservice by not getting on and letting everyone know that I was taking a bit of a hiatus and why.

You know, I talk a lot about that scene in the Tom Hanks movie, Forrest Gump, where Forrest, after

crossing the nation and having his remaining small band of followers be with him. And then, as you

recall, he simply stops. He found that Eureka moment where he was done with such an incredibly

awesome and arduous task. Well, I don't think that the last three months have resulted in that

Forrest Cup moment for me, but they have been filled with, I don't know, cognitive dissonance,

and that required me to

simply take a break. We wandered into the radical right discussion right before I took that break,

and it's tedious, I know, and for some of you listening to it too, it's a real rabbit hole,

and for others it was just right. What happened to me was a

confluence of many things, some of which may have seemed simple in explanation, but were quite

onerous in my own application. For instance, I sold a family home in Atlanta. As you know, I live in Florida now, but we kept that

house because it's where my kids grew up and where some of our closest friends still remain.
