from my home office in southwest London. Today we depart from the coronavirus

related stories to bring you an update on the European Court of Justice landmark ruling on the

adequacy of the privacy shield. And so across the airwaves, we are delighted to have Mark Sherwood

Edwards, a fellow GDPR now host, lawyer and data protection specialist. Mark has taken the time

to read the judgment in detail and is going to talk to us today about what it means for data

protection, for businesses and for DPO's. So we're splitting the podcast into two sections.

In the first 15 minutes, Mark will explain in a nutshell what the decision

was, together with some suggestions for what we should do next. For the second part of the podcast,

we will go into more detail about the decision itself, what it was based on, and what we think

might happen next in the world of data regulators, supervisory authorities and their interaction with
