Summary

In This Episode Francie talks about:

  • The culture of heaven in our homes comes out of relationships.
  • Feelings matter.
  • Emotions are the currency of relationships.
  • Our feelings open the door to encounter what is true about God.
  • Jesus wept over Lazarus' death with Mary and Martha.  John 11
  • God the Father comes looking for us in the middle of our discouragement.

Prayer:  Father God we thank you because you are such a good and perfect Father.  We know that we are safe in your hands.  Thank you for creating us with emotions.  We ask that you come and fill our feelings with more of yourself.  Give us courage to share our emotions with you so we can feel "felt", seen and known by you.  We know you share our grief, our joy, our discouragement and everything we feel inside of our homes.  Thank you for coming to look for us.  Help us as we continue making heart connections inside our home and deeper heart connections with you.  Amen.

Hello everybody. Thanks for coming back for another episode of Heaven in Your Home.

0:12.0

I'm Francie Winslow and this is my husband Wyatt and we are doing just a few, a series of a few conversations about heaven in your home really worked out and what it has looked

0:22.9

like for us as God has led us on our journey of hosting his presence in our home and allowing

0:30.4

him to grow us into deeper places of relationship with him and each other, especially within the

0:37.0

family unit. So I want to

0:39.0

invite you into our conversation and we're going to pray. God, thank you so much for your word

0:43.7

and your nearness. You are such a good father and I thank you that you have good things for us

0:51.7

every day, every moment, around every corner.

1:00.8

You just want to take our hand and keep showing us that we're safe in you and that you're taking care of us, that you are leading us along good paths for your namesake.

1:06.5

So we follow you and we say yes to you, God.

1:09.1

In Jesus' name, amen.

1:15.0

Okay. Wyatt, you... Okay. Okay. Here we go.

1:22.2

You have been with me in the last few episodes. We've talked about the heart of God to enjoy us.

1:46.4

So powerful. I hope you guys listen to that one. We've also talked about the power of simple dates, getting a gumball at the grocery store, going for a Dunkin' Donut, going for a slurpee, and just the investment of weekly intentional time with each kid and our family because the core value of our home is heart connection. And I think we've really come to believe that the core value of the kingdom of heaven is heart connection. And that that's

1:51.0

really what God is after in us and for us and in our homes. And that any culture of heaven that is

1:57.7

born in our home and that grows in our home comes out of relationship,

2:06.5

not out of shoulds, not out of religious stuff. Anything that is beautiful and lovely and fruitful is built out of heart connection. And so I wanted Wyatt to invite you to share a few more

2:12.9

stories because I think some of the most fruitful parts of our family life have come from the way you've led us as a dad and as a husband,

2:22.6

and the way you pursued our hearts, both my heart and also our kids' hearts.

2:27.7

We had been talking a little bit before this about our feelings and how facts versus feelings.

2:38.2

And in a previous podcast, we talked about how you asked Wade, you know, how's your day

2:41.5

going or how's your week?
