Here's your host, Brandon Adam. So the other day when Kirby Smart was meeting reporters,

he was asked the question about the legend of Georgia players a year

ago, and it is a legend because it seems to kind of grow week to week, week to week, month

to month over the course of the last year, the legend that somehow Georgia players were led

to believe that there were people in the media last year that thought they were going to go

seven and five.

You may remember this.

And part of the reason why this is such a prominent, like, legend, one of those sort of tails, tall tales that keeps growing and growing and growing, is because of Nolan Smith. Now, we're going to actually hear from Nolan Smith on a different topic here in a moment. But, you know, Nolan Smith went on that podcast at some point in time during the offseason and basically said, yeah, I told the whole team that.

I made up this thing about Georgia going in 7 to 5 because I wanted to like fire up the Georgia players. And that's really funny. And obviously Nolan's just like this unbelievable personality. So he tells stories like that in a good way. And this kind of became sort of a compelling yarn to connect to Georgia's 2022 championship season. But once again, this week, Kirby's

like, no, I didn't tell these guys. They'd go seven to five. That's, you know, the dumbest thing in the world. You know, the idea that that would even be believed or I'd do that, whatever, you can go to the Dog Nation YouTube page. You can see specifically what Kirby smarts it on that point. And what we've always said the entire time over the course of the last year that while it's probably certainly

probably certainly untrue that anyone thought Georgia would go seven and five, there was plenty

of very real doubt about Georgia before last season. Essentially unanimous was the belief that

Georgia would not be the best team in the country last year,

that Alabama would be and that Ohio State would be better than Georgia there as well.

And as we've said, there's nothing wrong with making a pick against Georgia.

But when the defending national champions were universally and unanimously dismissed prior to the start of last season,

that sort of felt like that was just directionally wrong.

The fact that everyone was in agreement that Georgia could not replace 15 draft picks lost off the

2021 team, the unanimity of all that was just a little too much for us. We kind of called that
