Episode 2, the Hillsborough disaster. April 15, 1989.

96 deceased, 150 to 200 injured. You'll be telling us he was a virgin next.

A South Yorkshire officer to the mother of a Hillsborough victim when she told him her son

didn't smoke or drink, as shared by her son-in-law Leo Fallon in ESPN 30 for 30 Hillsboro.

A boy not barely in his teens is lost amongst the dying screams.

A body too frail to fight for breath is drowned below a sea of death.

His outstretched arm then disappears to signal 14 years of tears, as 96 souls of those who fell await the toll of the Justice Bell.

The Justice Bell by Dave Kirby. Hillsborough is a disaster in two parts. What Happened and What Happened After. What happened is that on April 15th,

1989, a tragedy occurred at the F.A. Cup semi-final at Hillsborough Stadium that killed 96 people

and left several hundred injured.

What happened after was a massive cover-up.

And I said in the first episode that I'm not a big fan of conspiracies, but this was not a

conspiracy.

This was an actual, honest-to-goodness cover- up from the very beginning, from the word go.

And it was meant to make it look as though the fans were the cause of this disaster.

And they weren't, but we'll get to that.

Now, Hillsborough Stadium was the home of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club it was built in 1890 and it was upgraded for the

1966 World Cup game but it really was not the nicest stadium in the world. A lot of people didn't really

like it. There was actually a quote from one of the fans who would actually end up being a victim

at Hillsborough. He basically responded to finding out that the game would be at the stadium by

saying, oh no, not that stadium.
