And the Jets acquired Mink of Fitzpatrick multiple time, all pro safety from the Miami Dolphins for a seventh round pick.

Mink of Fitzpatrick had two stints with the dolphins that were only about a year apiece, believe it or not. But the bulk of his career was spent with the Pittsburgh Steelers. So I figured who better to talk to about that than my buddy Chris Carter of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and locked on Steelers. Chris, thanks for coming back on the show, man. Really looking forward to talking about Minka Fitzpatrick with you.

Always fun talking to you, Scott. And we'll have a lot to talk about with Mika Fitzpatrick. I have a lot of respect for how that man plays the game. Let's start with the trade that brought Mika Fitzpatrick to Pittsburgh. It was kind of a stunner. We know what happened with Brian Flores and Micka Fitzpatrick

not being a good fit, but it was just over a year after he had been picked number 11 overall by the

Dolphins. They trade him to the Steelers for a first round pick. And at the time, it seemed like

reaction was mixed as to whether or not he was worth a first round pick. Tell me what the thoughts were

as far as Steelers fans and the media at that particular point in time. So it was very early in the

2019 season when the Steelers traded for McA Fitzpatrick. The season was on the verge of disaster

because Ben Rothesberger had just thrown out his elbow in week two against the Seahawks.

And it was looking like, well, they don't have much else in the tank.

The defense had some new pieces.

T.J. Watt was a third year player at this point.

You know, I think they still had Bud Dupree.
