2015. Today, we're talking about external obstacles and internal obstacles. There are things that we have

no control over, especially things outside of our, on the outside, external obstacles. This

the weather teammates you name it outside obstacles but what makes the journey even more difficult

is when you're not just combating outside obstacles but you're also combating internal obstacles

things that happen within your control within the chambers of your own heart

and your own mind. And so I want to help you with an acronym. The acronym is bat to help you

navigate the internal obstacles. So the B in bat stands for breathing, slowing down your breath, focusing on the exhale

to regulate your heartbeat, to quiet your emotions, to slow things down. By being able to control

your breath and anchoring yourself to the present helps you minimize battling against

yourself.

The A stands for your attention, focusing on what you can control.

Where a lot of people struggle with the internal battles is they don't know where to put their attention.

Pick a target, pick an anchor, and focus.

There are four channels to attention. We have the internal narrow,

which is internal where you're focused on one word, one thought, one singular thing internally.

There's internal broad when you're just kind of assessing a situation internally. Maybe you're

game planning, you're strategizing internally, thinking about a lot of different things, but you're very intentional.

Then there's external narrow where you focus your attention, you you direct your eyesight on one singular thing.
