Good morning and welcome to the Increase Reimpaq podcast. I'm Justin Sua, episode 2048. Today, this

excerpt comes to you from Rebecca Homekees. And she says this. The assumption is that companies get

ahead due to their constant celebration of making mistakes and failing. But praising mistakes is missing the

point. Companies get ahead by creating an environment of constant experimentation and learning.

Failure is not celebrated. The celebration is for resourcefully eliminating options that do not work.

The word experiment seems to bring much emotional baggage with it.

So let's start by defining it. An experiment is the testing of an assumption that, if correct,

could affect the growth or profitability of the company. Learning velocity is running as many

good experiments as quickly and cheaply as possible.

It is not about getting better at running better.

It is not about getting better at running better experiments.

It's about getting better at running more experiments that are well articulated, fast, and cheap, close quote.

Here's what I love about this.

There's a lot of words there. Maybe confusing. might have to go back and re listen to that but essentially the gist of it is run experiments

something I do all the time with coaches that I work with is we talk about running experiments. Experiment with working out

in the morning versus working out at night. Experiment with reading one page a day to get better.

Experiment with listening more than you talk. Experiment with having the people you're working

with answer their own problems and find solutions to

their own questions. Experiments are great because you're not tied to it. You're in a hypothesis.

You say, okay, doing this experiment, it may lead to this. And then you go do it. And it may

work and it may not work. And then we come back the week later or two weeks

later and say you know what it was amazing i'm going to keep doing it or you say you know what
