Hello and welcome to the Pink Bike podcast, well, the preamble at least this week, I, Henry Quine, I've said it again, ah, made myself cringe. I I, Henry Quinny, am joined by Alicia Leggett. As we discuss some of the news before we get into a real kind of meat of the podcast, which is our pet peeves that I recorded with Dario, Matt and Kaz. Alisha, it's been quite a big week for mountain biking. My head hurts a little bit. There's been big

conversations. There's been racing. There's been X, Y, Z. Can you run us through a lot?

A quick, a quick, brief tour of the news. Brief tour of the news. Yeah. So like Henry said,

we've kind of had everything all across the board.

Racing slowing down just a little bit for the season, but it's not over yet.

So this past weekend we saw the US Open Downhill, which was won by Dakota Norton and

Nina Hoffman.

Kind of cool to see Dakota Norton continued crushing it this year.

And then Nina, the German winning such a U.S.

centric event, was also kind of cool. On the cross-country side, we saw the Paris XCO test

course where the riders rode a race basically to test out the Olympic track for next year for the

Paris Olympics. And that was won by Luana Lecomte and Victor Kuretsky. No surprises there, because we've seen both of those two riders win a lot in the past, but really cool to see it happen again.

Yeah, absolutely.

I mean, I think it's a weird thing.

It feels like European downhill for so long had a sort of had a stranglehold on the sort of elite events and I think it's

great to see more riders come over for that US Open before kind of jumping onto the snowshoe round

of the World Cup and on St Anne and it's funny with the Paris XCO test event with the COVID

affected years it feels like Tokyo was like six months ago. It's weird

to think we're almost at another Olympics. It feels very bizarre. Yeah, that's pretty strange.

It doesn't quite line up for me. Yeah, totally. Now, the big news this week was the conversation

around women at Rampage. If you could maybe sort of set the scene with kind of what happened with that.
