Summary

It's not every day you get to speak to a World Champion, it's also not every podcast when the guest is willing to give you a huge amount of honesty as they look over some of their own, and mountain biking's, greatest achievements. Miranda Miller and Henry Quinney talk about where World Cup racing is going, what enduro should look like, plus which of the fast French riders she'd have on her dream World Cup team.

Hello and welcome to the Pink Pike podcast. Things are different today without Henry around,

0:15.9

so I'm introducing this episode, but I do try to do pretty much the same thing that you're

0:20.6

used to, And I'm here

0:22.1

with Mike Kazimer and it's just the two of us here today. Caz, did you ride a bike today?

0:26.6

I did. Yeah, I got on a little e-bike ride. Oh, nice. How was it? Yeah. It's good. It's really nice.

0:31.7

I might try to go for a regular bike ride after this because it's sunny and the dirt is perfect, so I have to double up. Oh, that sounds awesome.

0:38.8

Naturally. Can't just, can't just do one. No. Well, oh, I did not ride a bike today, but I did

0:45.4

get outside. Yesterday afternoon, I launched my paraglider at a site. I'm in Utah right now. I

0:51.8

launched from one mountain here, crossed to a neighboring mountain and landed on kind of like a high point ridge there and camped for the night and had intentions of flying out this morning. I did actually a pretty similar thing a few years ago and was sort of trying to like repeat it but better this time around. But the weather just didn't line up to be something I was

1:11.9

comfortable with this morning. And so I ended up taking a really, really long walkout. So anyway,

1:18.2

so recording right now in the evening, which is not our normal time. But glad we could make it

1:23.5

work and glad I'm out of the woods and back to the land of things like food and showers.

1:29.0

Yeah, good job getting out. Yeah, I imagine your pack must be huge. When you're pack

1:32.8

hiking out of the woods with your camping stuff and your paraglider, isn't that like the biggest

1:36.4

backpack ever? It wasn't very light. Yeah. Yeah. I actually don't know exactly how much it weighs,

1:42.5

but I'd guess around like 45 pounds.

1:44.9

Oh, I guess that's not horrible.

1:46.3

It's not crazy.

1:47.6

It's not my biggest paragliding backpack because I had a pretty light harness and sort of medium wing.

1:54.8

But, yeah, I mean, I would much rather hike without it.

1:58.5

Right.

1:59.0

Yeah, or fly.
