It is the 8th of July, or July 8th, 2024. It's a very clear and bright morning here in Solford, but it's very, very cold. It is unseasonably cold. There was a bit of a mist, not ice now, but a mist on car windows this morning and you could see your breath as clear as anything.

Yeah, very cold, changeable.

Again, it's going to be very unsettled the weather this week.

No sign of summer just yet.

as it pushes the country's far

right into third place and there is a photograph adorning the Guardian front page of people

celebrating in Nantes after exit polls suggest no single political party won an absolute majority. So the Guardian went to bed

last night, probably around 10, 10.30. I can tell you this morning that the exit poll has borne out.

It is accurate. So how does it work this French? I get asked this regularly enough.
