This is your old pal Chris Shiplet coming to you from a hotel room in the

nation's capital of Washington DC. I'm out here this weekend with the

Food Fighters because we are going to play the

Firefly Festival in Dover, Delaware and I'm sad to say that I'm going to be

playing it sitting down.

Because last week when I went to go play in my weekly soccer game, I was just filled with the spirit of World Cup.

I went out and I was playing all crazy and running all over the place and trying

to get every ball and promptly broke my foot. So that's right. Eight weeks in a cast, eight weeks on crutches, pretty much destroyed my

summer. No surfing, no family beach days, no lounging by the pool for this guy. Oh well, I guess it's

time for me to slow down. What's you gonna do? Now this week's interview is with one of the greatest bass players working in

all of country music today my buddy Kevin Smith who you may know from his work over the years with bands like High Noon,

local Austin, Hahnke Tunk Supergroup Haybale, he played bass with Dwight Yoakham for a while and currently plays with a guy you

may have heard of named Willie Nelson. It's kind of like the dream country gig of all time.
