We had four young men, all the victims of gun violence, who passed away in one evening.

Four times that evening I had to walk out and tell the families that they had lost their 20-year-old son to violence.

I had a young resident with me, probably 32 years old, and by the third or fourth time that night I just couldn't make him go out that last time with me to talk to those families.
