I'm the executive director at Acts 29, where we talk about anything and everything, having to do with transformation in the church. I'm here, as always with my fellow missionary, Mary Gilfoyle. Mary, how are you?

I'm doing great. Happy Monday to you, Father John. Happy Monday. Happy ordinary time.

What's up with ordinary?

I know. What a lame. Why do we call it that?

Yeah, I know. It doesn't mean normal. I think everybody, well, I actually don't think

everybody knows that it doesn't mean normal time. It means those weeks of the year that we actually just count by number as opposed to having a particular liturgical season.

But I don't know who's in charge of naming liturgical seasons, but someone should get to work

on this ordinary time thing. We need a new name. But that's going to flow right into our topic

today, which is... Our topic today, Father John, is it really just a day? We're talking about my

birthday, right?

No, that is a massive celebration.

But there's actually even a bigger one, so that's what we want to talk about.

We should probably pray then, shouldn't we?

Father, we do thank you for these days that we have entered into this season of ordinary time after we've had the wonderful

opportunity to linger at length on the wonder and the mystery of your son's resurrection from the

dead has defeated the powers of sin and death his glorious ascension and now the outpouring of the

holy spirit we ask father that you would truly clothe us with power from on high,

that you would send out your spirit into our lives,

so as to continue to transform us and to conform us more and more to the heart,
