Summary

We had our usual September Nintendo Direct, and while it didn't necessarily blow the roof off the house, it was still a solid show that gave us a look at a lot of cool stuff! Come listen as we break down and react to the announcements, including our thoughts on the Mario movie and casting voice actors versus celebrities, if you should be mad that Nintendo 64 games coming to NSO will cost you more money, Andy's scathing rant on Kirby, and of course, the latest snippet of DLC we got for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. All this, plus some thoughts on Splatoon, Bayonetta, and Zelda jigsaw puzzles! Come hang out with us!     Follow The Champions’ Cast! The Hello everyone and welcome to the Champions cast here on Zelda Dungeon.

0:30.6

We are coming in a day late, but I think that the episode that we have will be worth

0:35.9

a wait. We are going to cover all of the

0:38.1

Nintendo Direct. Of course, I couldn't do it without the Zelda MVP herself, the best of the

0:45.4

business. Alison Al-Alitha, Al, how you doing? I'm doing pretty good. I feel well-rested. I think

0:52.2

Nintendo took a look at my schedule and they're like,

0:55.0

oh, she's going on vacation at this time. That's when we're going to show a direct.

1:00.0

And so I felt that. And it was kind of a bummer. I had to listen to it rather than watch it while I was driving.

1:07.9

So I had initial reactions, which was good, but then I watched it later

1:11.6

and I had better reactions. So I'm excited to talk about it. You know what? I will say that

1:17.9

this one was a bad direct in terms of like, I think we had 24 hours notice or something like that.

1:24.4

Yeah. In fact, it was not very long. No, in fact, you were, it was kind of funny, you were like, hey, and I didn't, I hadn't realized that there was an announcement yet, but you're like, hey, if there's Zelda news tomorrow, you know, Thursday, be ready to record. And I'm like, I'm not going to be here. I'm driving down to the coast.

1:44.6

So.

1:49.1

Well, I mean, luckily, luckily there really wasn't any Zelda needs as we'll get into. But my original point was that it was a bad direct in terms of like there is less than 24 hours notice.

1:54.5

Yeah.

1:55.0

But I feel like oftentimes they will plop a Nintendo direct at like 9 a.m. or 10 a.m.

2:04.7

Or like some miserable time like that. And this one wasn't too bad. This one was 4 o'clock for me,

2:10.2

3 o'clock for you. But all of our East Coast pals actually could get home from work,

2:14.5

settle in, take their shoes off. So it wasn't like an obnoxious time.

2:19.1

So at least we're making baby steps into the right direction.

2:22.5

Maybe in the future we'll get a direct that's announced ahead of time, like a couple

2:27.4

days ahead of time, maybe a week ahead of time, actually, if you can even imagine.
