I was reading this morning about God's book of Acts, what the Bible says.

After they prayed, the place that they prayed was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness.

I would like to share a few things about prayer with you today.

Number one is prayer is not a substitute for walking with the Lord.

Prayer is an overflow of walking with the Lord.

They prayed, but in the beginning of that chapter, it says that the Pharisees and the

religious leaders saw them filled with the spirit and saw them with boldness, and they marveled that they were

uneducated, and it says they perceived that they walked with the Lord. So they were already filled with

the Spirit. They already walked with the Lord. They already healed the sick, walked in obedience.

And then after that they received threats. So they came together and they started to pray.

I think the challenge that happens with a lot of us when it comes to prayer is we use prayer as a substitute for obedience.

We use prayer as a substitute for walking with the Lord.

In fact, some people think that prayer is walking with the Lord.
