Episode 9, the papacy in the early 14th century special.

Hi, welcome to this special episode of the History of the Papacy podcast. If you listen to the History of England podcast by David Crowther, you may have already listened to this episode on the

religious situation of the early 14th century. I encourage you to listen

to this episode because there's some special bonus material on the Knights Templar.

The Templar material wasn't in the History of England version because, if you have been listening,

and you should be, Sharon Eastaw of the History of the Crusades podcast, did another guest episode on the History of England, which covered the Templars in some detail.

I put my own spin on the Templar affair, and it is well worth the listen if I do say so myself.

I thank David for giving me the opportunity to discuss

the papacy on his podcast. If you haven't had a chance to listen to the episode on Celestine

the 5th, this episode dovetails well with that show and is really a continuation of the themes
