Modesty is all in the news right now because a mom of a Notre Dame student wrote a letter asking the female students to please stop wearing leggings. They're so warm fitting you may as well be naked.

And because modesty has so much spent on the news, I thought that it might be worth turning one of my favorite posts that I've written into a podcast. Some of my regular readers will have already heard this one and read this one, but I know a lot of people just listen to the podcast, and so I thought this was important to do in this format. Let's tackle modesty. How many times have you heard modesty talked about in the form of

don't be a stumbling block for him? I actually saw that on Twitter that's what made

me decide to run this one today.

Someone posted a link to a podcast where a pastor quoted First Timothy 2 9,

women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel with modesty and self-control,

with the

caption bikinis and leggings are underwear not outer wear

and then another woman commented on that same thread saying

if Christ tells us to die to self I am very sure he means our

fashion interest too I stopped wearing bikinis and tight clothing when the

spirit revealed to me how I cause men to lust after me if you want to cause them to stray, you go ahead, but I don't.

All right, we don't want to cause the guy to stray. We don't want to be a stumbling block.

Is that the proper way to look at this

whole modesty debate? So let me jump in and let's take a closer look at the scripture today.

First, I would hope that we would all agree that Jesus lays the blame for lust at the man's feet.

If you look in the Bible, Jesus says that if a man lust after a woman, he has already committed adultery

in his heart, and it is better to cut out his eye than to lust.

He never once says that it's a woman's fault.
