We're going to start today's episode off with a question from whom I believe is our youngest active listener.

I know we have younger listeners who sit in the back of their dad's car. How you guys doing out there? Hey kids. How's it hanging kids? Um, your mom probably hates us, but that's okay. What makes you think? What, what do you mean by active? Meaning he's, he's, he's turning, he's not turning, he's not listening to the show because dad is listening to it. He's turning this show on because he wants to listen to it. No, he's writing his questions. And he's telling his dad to fuck off. He's our youngest question asker. We can put it that way. Lucas Brito. Hey, Lucas. Lucas. Lucas says, hey Nathan and Gregory, I'm a 15-year-old. I am a 15-year-old. My hobby has been music production for three years now. I believe that makes it since he was five, if I'm not mistaken. My math is correct there. I heard about the show a couple of months ago and have been hooked ever since. I love what you guys are doing. My question has to do with mixing and mastering,

which is a good thing, because that's all we fucking talk about here. I've been mastering

all my tracks since I started and planned to continue doing it so I get better at it. What I have

found, however, is that despite my mixes sounding good to me, the mastered tracks still sound over-compressed if I try to get it as loud as the reference track.

Is this a problem stemming from the mix itself, or is it to do with the mastering?
