We have another exciting episode for you today.

It's funny when I was doing the book tour for my last book.

The subtitle has why nationalism, populism, tribalism,

and identity politics are destroying American democracy.

When I did liberal talk radio, everyone was like,

oh yeah, absolutely, we hear you on the nationalism and the populism and the tribalism.

But what's so bad about identity politics?

When I do right wing talk radio, you get the reverse.

People saying, I hear you on the identity politics, but what's so bad about nationalism?

But identity politics, to my mind, is in many ways the sort of root of all of those things in a certain way.

And that's why one of the reasons I am delighted to have in the studio Mary Eberstadt,

whose new book, Primal Screams, How the Sexual Revolution Created Identity Politics,

is just out. And before you even get started, I'll just say,

I love the book, I wish, and I'm a little mad at Mary for not having written it a little earlier,

so I could use some of it for my book, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
