This week, we're broadcasting live from Mima's Room discussing the 1997 animated psychological horror film, Perfect Blue.

This film was directed by Satoshi Khan from a screenplay by Sarayuki Murai based on the novel

Perfect Blue Complete Metamorphosis by Yoshikatsu Takiuchi.

In his feature directorial debut, Khan blends horror, drama, and social commentary with dazzling

visuals and psychological thrills. Perfect Blue reaches admirable depths with pointed looks at societal

expectations, the pitfalls of celebrity, toxic fandom, consumerism, and idolization.

It's no wonder this film has proven influential in the years since its release,

and is often listed as one of the greatest psychological thrillers of all time.
