Dorothy Kel Galen was born in Chicago July 3rd 1913 and you might say she was kind of born into the journalism business

Her dad was Jim Kel Galen a highly respected newspaper reporter

The family moved around a lot due to her dad's career and in 1920

They ended up in New York City when he got a job as a correspondent for the international news service
