Summary

The murder of Gregory Witman on October 2, 1998 was brutal. The 13 year old boy walked home from his bus stop after school and was ambushed the second he walked through the threshold of his home. He was stabbed over 64 times and practically decapitated with a pen knife.

The investigation into the crime took only 12 hours. The police concluded it was Gregory’s 15 year old brother, Zach. Join us as we discuss if Zach could have done this and what his fate was.

Hey guys, welcome to episode 104 of a true crime couple. I'm Kay.

0:04.6

And I'm John. So today we're going to be covering the case or cases of

0:09.9

Gregory and Zachary Whitman. This is a very intense case and it deals with

0:16.2

violence against children. So I just wanted to mention that straight off the bat

0:19.7

so that trigger warning is taking care of. So this case is very unique in many

0:26.0

ways. And I've wanted to cover it for years, but I've been waiting for the

0:30.4

ending to the suffering that the Whitman family had to endure for 23 years

0:54.6

and still continues to endure. And as I tell you the story, you'll kind of

0:59.8

understand that a little bit more. But John, this is an intense case with a

1:05.8

lot of unanswered questions. Okay, so what you're telling me is it's everything

1:10.1

that I love. Yes, I think I think you'll find this really interesting. Okay, well

1:15.0

I'm ready. Yeah, so I don't even want to give our typical introduction because

1:19.9

I don't want to give anything away. Please say the suspect 31-year-old Jeffrey

1:28.3

Dahmer has confessed to the feelings of 11 people whose remains were found in

1:32.7

his apartment. We are all evil in some form or another. Are we mad? Lock your

1:38.8

doors, lock your windows. If you have the ability to provide additional security

1:43.4

devices, then by all means do so. So the Whitman family was your average suburban

1:50.5

family in the fall of 1998. They had the big beautiful house in the Quaint Town

1:56.1

of New Freedom, Pennsylvania. They had two sons, Zachary aged 15 and Greg aged
