Welcome to Hot Takes. I'm Congressman Matt Gates reporting from the road in

Washington, D.C. So if the audio's a little different than you're used to,

we'll be right back to normal. Let's talk about the news.

The big news today is that overnight President Trump,

the First Lady of the United States, and their close friend and advisor,

Hope Hicks, have all tested positive for coronavirus.

The President's campaign activities have been suspended in terms of the live

airport rallies that he's been doing. They are beginning the quarantine process.

Recent reports from the White House Physicians Office indicate that

the President and the First Lady are not symptomatic, that they are healthy.

Here's my hope that the President will take a few days off,

get well hydrated, and not feel like he has to continue putting in the

20 to 22 hour days each and every day, as I know he's accustomed to.

So take a little bit of a rest, Mr. President.

Get better. We look forward to seeing him back on the trail.

I don't know somehow I think he's still going to be totally engaged in

the operations right now with just so much that we've got going on from

the coronavirus negotiations on Capitol Hill to the campaign,
