The day after Major League Baseball's All-Star Game, yet another win for the American League, which just owns the National League in ways that are unholy and impure.

Eight consecutive wins, 15 wins in 18 games.

Yes, so you wear this, the extent to which the AL has dominated the NL in All-Star games.

Another American League victory on Tuesday night during which we had three Nationals and an Orioles on display, as well as, yes, the uniforms which were atrocious.

My thoughts coming up, as well as my thoughts on what I think this All-Star Week will most be remembered for, from a Nationals perspective, Monday nights, home-run derby, and the absolute show that Juan Soto put on.

But hello, and welcome to a Wednesday installment of the Algoldi podcast, as my vacation week continues with, yes, vacation and quotation marks.

And by the way, vacation is in quotation marks, not just because I'm still working during the vacation, not just because I'm still doing shows during the vacation.

But vacation is in quotation marks because when you have a son who will turn four next month and a daughter who will turn one next month, vacation is in quotation marks.

This is not a vacation. This is a workcation, as I'm sure any of you who have small kids or have had small kids know, you need a vacation from your vacation.

This is about as much of a vacation as that Wall Street Journal puff piece on Dance Nighter a few weeks ago was true journalism.

But yes, I am still doing shows this week, just not the usual five shows, three shows instead shows for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

A man with whom I chatted for years in the immediate aftermath of Washington games and I was doing the official radio post game show for the team now known as the Washington football team.

I was waiting for just the right time to have Doc on this podcast. You see Doc is not a fan of the non-football stuff.

I started this podcast in late February, right in the middle of the non-football stuff.

So, you know, very early on in the life of this podcast, we had free agency to talk about.

The draft to talk about more recently OTAs, mini camps, dance nighter, buying out the disgruntled minority owners, the outcome of the Beth Wilkinson investigation, the name change, you know, all of the fun stuff.

Doc does not like splashing around in all of that stuff and so I was like, you know, let me save his debut on the Algoldy podcast for when that debut can be at its best and can be most impactful.
