The US Open is upon us, and it's now 15 years since the Arthur Ashe Stadium was unveiled.

To mark that milestone, we pay tribute to the man who the stadium was named after.

And as you'll hear, the late great Arthur Ashe left the lasting effects on people, including John McIner and John Bourque.

We'll also preview the year's final major, right here on the tennis podcast.

Well, Catherine, there's just a few days to go now until the US Open gets underway.

I'll be going to New York, Flushing Meadows on Friday and experiencing the buildup, the qualifying weekend.

It's a fantastic few days, really, to get over to New York, finally banished the jet lag.

I'm a bit of a sufferer, I don't know about you, when you've been over there in the past.

But it always gets me a little bit.

But then after a little while, you get over there onto the site there and soak up the atmosphere of the final Grand Slam tournament of the year.

It's probably the least efficient in some ways of all the Grand Slam's, I think, the US Open.

But in many ways, it's probably my favourite.

I kind of like the chaos of it all. What do you think?

Yeah, I do too. It doesn't seem very trendy to say that the US Open is your favourite.

You're sort of supposed to say the Wimbledon or the Australian Open.

But I absolutely love it. I love how brash an American it is.

I love that the Arthrashtadium is so ridiculously large.

You know, I love that it can be 35 degrees and ridiculously humid.

I think it's a fantastic event.

Yeah, you mentioned the Arthrashtadium there, of course, Christend.

That name when it was built and unveiled in 1997.
