It is the day after we had reports on Thursday evening of the commanders having agreed with safety Percy Butler on a one-year contract extension. This also is the day of us learning of the date for a vote by the D.C. Council on the deal between the commanders in Washington, D.C. for a commander stadium on the RFK stadium site, August 1st, as in next Friday, August 1st.
0:49.1	You perhaps remember 2.2.22, well, 8.1.25. That is the date for this vote. We on Wednesday had the
1:00.0	reports that D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelssohn had reached an agreement with the commanders
1:05.0	to adjust the financial terms of the stadium deal. And Mendelssohn on Thursday morning on
1:10.5	Instagram announced a vote for
1:12.9	August 1st. Quote, today we're scheduling a vote for Friday, August 1st, 2025 to consider the
1:19.5	RFK campus legislation. We've been working with the Washington commanders for several weeks, and we feel
1:25.3	we have a much improved agreement that would bring the team back to their
1:29.0	historical home, as well as develop the land around the RFK campus. It's clear that the commanders
1:35.2	showed through their negotiations their commitment to the district and their willingness to consider
1:40.0	what's in the best interest of our citizens. The process working with the commanders has been extremely productive,
1:46.6	and they've been a cooperative partner.
1:49.1	Overwhelmingly, residents have asked the council for due diligence
1:52.5	on this multi-billion dollar deal and under immense outside pressure to rush the process.
