Summary

https://RandallCarlson.com/links https://youtube.com/TheRandallCarlson https://youtube.com/geocosmicrex We look back at last week’s lesson on drumlins from guest Jerome Lesemann, marveling as it seems he did, at the “absolutely astounding” scale of the water-flushed features created at the bed of a continental ice sheet. Many questions remain about the source of the meltwater and the details of massive Glacial Lake Agassiz. Its release thru Big Stone Lake on the Minnesota River has left many clues that we can learn to recognize as features indicating megafloods in other locations. Relict flood channels with “misfit” rivers are difficult to explain with gradualist principles, so attempts by Dury that had to include a paleo-river that was much larger than the modern flow were early indications of a flaw in the Uniformitarian model. Then RC considers Washington’s Palouse Hills as analogous to some of Jerome’s crescentic forms, and finally, shares photos of an impressive site in the Okanogan Valley.
