Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Hollywood Godfather podcast, episode number three.

Very interesting one, I'd have to say myself, the Academy Awards then and now.

And we all watched the Academy Awards other than Pat. We know that.

Pat didn't.

No, I didn't have any problem sleeping that night. Otherwise, I would have Vortooned it. Yes.

Okay. Well, you know, all of us and myself as a kid always wanted to be in the movies,

I really never watched the show because I was, you know, television, everything wasn't expanded like

that and I was out every night. But in 1973, I got dragged into it because our film, The Godfather, in 1972, got many nominations.

Did you expect it when you were filming that movie?

We didn't even know if the movie was going to get out.

Paramount said they were going to pull the plug on it.

Really?

Well, there was so much conflict.

And the opening scenes, a meeting, Puccino, who was a nominated for supporting actor in that movie.

You know, the opening scenes was my wedding.

And they saw him as this weak little soldier,

and Kate, that's my family, not me, and all.

You know, he was just this boy, and the sophisticates and the educated producers on the

lot at Paramount were seeing dailies at that time.

You know, they get the film the next day

of what we shot.
