So the last episode of Broken Justice is out now, and in it we tell the story of how Ricky

Kid, after 23 years behind bars, for a crime he always said he had nothing to do with, was

exonerated and released from prison.

And that was in large part thanks to the help of Sean O'Brien, his pro bono lawyer and a law professor

at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. So this week, to mark the end of the podcast and to

celebrate Ricky's freedom, we brought Ricky and Sean to Washington, D.C. for an appearance on the PBS

News Hour. And since we have them here in town, we wanted to sit down with them for a conversation

I'm doing good. First of all, thank you for asking.

Every day is new.

It's something new.

I feel like I'm creating history every day.

It's exciting.

It's meaningful and sometimes even challenging.

So let's not forget I've been gone for 23 years and suddenly reemerged back

into society. So some of that can be challenging, but overall I'm good. Tell me about those
