Summary

In 2018, Tara tried to find a weighted blanket her six-month-old son could safely wear to help extend his 1.5-hour sleep windows. Shocked there was nothing available for this age group, she decided to create her own and the idea for Dreamland Baby was born. From that night, she launched a successful Kickstarter, an e-commerce store, made a deal with Lori Greiner on Shark Tank, and can now be found in Bloomingdales, Target, and Nordstrom, among many other retail stores. She shares with us how she got this company going and how her blankets are making a difference!

product to help baby sleep better at night. I don't know you, but I could use some of

0:28.2

that in my life. Jovey is cutting another tooth right now. I saw one finally cut through

0:36.8

this last week. I see the whites of two others. And she is just not sleeping well. And it

0:45.5

has been rough. The only way that we are like managing right now is through co-sleeping.

0:54.2

Because in the middle of the night she goes down at the beginning and I'm really easy.

0:58.6

And then once she wakes up, she will not let us put her back down. For a while, my husband

1:04.5

could get her back to sleep. And that was super helpful because he would just go in

1:10.3

be able to get her back down. And now she like is just clinging on. And I know she does

1:15.7

has to be so uncomfortable with her teeth coming in. She's growing like crazy. She grew

1:20.1

two inches in a month. She's like from eight months to nine months. She grew two inches.

1:28.1

And she just like keeps growing through all of her clothes. And so I know that she's

1:34.5

going through so much. She's trying to walk. She's standing independently. And there's

1:39.1

just like all these milestones going on. So I know she needs us to be there for her.

1:46.1

And when she won't let us put her down in the middle of the night, I can't just like rock

1:51.1

her all night long. So she usually ends up in bed with us practicing safe co-sleeping.

2:00.1

And that's like the only way that we are able to get some sleep right now is just surviving

2:06.5

through that. And it is hard because I feel like I get stuck in a certain position in

2:13.1

order to just like safe sleep with her. So I'm kind of like stuck in one position.

2:16.6

My hip will start to go numb. My arms uncomfortable. So I don't always sleep the best. But at least
