Hello everybody, Tom Woods here, and I am very glad to be joined once again by our old friend

Gene Epstein, who is economics and book review editor over at Barron's, the nation's premier financial

publication.

And we're going to talk today about happiness research.

We've talked about this a bit quite a long time ago on the show, but it's being used,

well, for obviously partisan purposes.

And we'll get into that in just a minute.

want to give you an opportunity to say something about the wonderful Soho Forum. I'm going to be in

New York in early October, so I actually went to the website to see if there's going to be a Soho

Forum debate while I'm in town,

but it's the following week, so I'm crushed.

But if I lived in New York, there's no way I would let a month go by without, I'm seriously,
