to take any responsibility for it, our woke chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has finally

stepped up to explain what happened. The problem you see with the withdrawal and subsequent

collapse of Afghanistan is that no one knew it would happen.

The timeframe of rapid collapse that was widely estimated and ranged from weeks to months

and even years following our departure. There was nothing that I or anyone else saw that

indicated a collapse of this army and this government in 11 days.

Ignorance is not an excuse, sir. Excuse me. I would ask you to use my preferred pronouns,

son. Oh, sorry, sir. It's ma'am. Okay. Frankly, ignorance may be the best excuse this

administration has of all the press conferences that we have seen over the past few days from

the chairman of the Joint Chiefs to the defense secretary to the president himself. The sad
