Juliet Cohen is the executive director for the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper.

Chattahoochy Riverkeeper is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the Chattahoochy River as well as its lakes and tributaries for the people, fish, and wildlife that depend on them.

I met up with Juliet for a quick discussion about the river and its current situation.

Are you Puerto Rican?

Not by blood, but born and raised there.

My parents are from New York and just happen to have a business down there and I grew up there.

And then what brought you to the states? College, I went to college in Miami and then ultimately

fell in love with a guy from Atlanta and ended up here. Go figure.
